About Us

St. Joseph FertilityCare™ Center is affiliated with FertilityCare™ Centers of America, which is a dynamic, growing group of centers that provide professional instruction in the CREIGHTON MODEL FertilityCare™ System. St. Joseph FertilityCare™ Center features the new reproductive science, NaProTECHNOLOGY®.

St. Joseph FertilityCare™ Center provides education and serves couples desiring to achieve or avoid pregnancy, and women seeking solutions for gynecological health conditions and infertility. We believe women deserve the best gynecological and procreative care possible, where the underlying causes are identified and treated, restoring normal fertility & gynecologic health.

St. Joseph FertilityCare™ Center began as St. Joseph Department of Natural Family Planning in 1975, under the direction of Mrs. Shirley Hoefler. Mrs. Hoefler was one of the first teachers trained by what is now the Pope Paul VI Institute of Human Reproduction, in Omaha, NE. She taught hundreds of couples in Albuquerque, and conducted Education Programs to train teachers, throughout the USA and in Mexico. Shirley Hoefler retired in 2000 after 25 years of service, leaving the center to the current director, Angelique Garcia.

In 2003, St. Joseph Hospital was sold to Ardent Healthcare System, who eliminated departments associated with Christian ministry. Archbishop, Michael J. Sheehan brought St. Joseph FertilityCare™ Center to the Archdiocese. The center continues to teach the FertilityCare™ System to 50 to 75 couples, and promote NFP to 400 married and engaged couples per year.

St. Joseph FertilityCare™ Center is a 501c3 Catholic nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
